I really like this brush! I enjoys how soft it is and feels great applying my 4 in 1 powder foundation on my face. I have not noticed any shedding which is great! I have another brush that I have for years which is the kabuki pink tip brush from Mica beauty...compare to that brush..I noticed I dont have to use alot for coverage and I dont feel the pricky feeling while applying make up to my face. This chisel brush seem to make my make up last because once again I dont have to use much compare to the other brush I have. I hope this chisel brush last a long time as did my other brush. I love the way the chisel brush feel...ooohhh they feels sooooo goooood!!!!
I can't recommend this brush enough! The 4-in-1 foundation is great on its own, but the chisel brush really does make coverage even better. It also helps my foundation last longer because I don't have to use as much.
Since I had tried a number of mineral powder products before and had lots of brushes, I really didn't want to spend more money on another brush. But, I took Pur's advice that this brush was best for applying the 4-in-1 Pressed Mineral Makeup. And guess what!?! They were right! None of the other brushes I've tried can hold a candle to this one. I don't know if it's the way the brush is cut, or the materials used, I just know that this brush WORKS. Even, light distribution, no bristle loss, soft and light on your skin, fits well in the hand, easy to clean ... well, there just isn't any other way to say it - if you want to get the best performance from your Pressed MIneral Makeup, don't use anything else.
A remarkably designed brush that works well to evenly distribute my favourite product! The bristles are extremely hard wearing and do not come out like other brushes I have owned. The brush does not get distorted either, making it a product that one cannot go without - its superiority would be missed!
Wouldn't recommend it. Firm brush, but bristles aren't too great. Doesn't give very good coverage. I bought Real Techniques Expert Face Brush & it works much better. The bristles keep falling out. Maybe you're tempted to purchase the brush to suit the powder... don't. You can find brushes for much better application (real techniques, nicer brands like MAC & Guerlain.)
Over the years I've tried different make-up brushes from very cheap one's to expensive one's and am very happy with the ones I'm currently using, so I was skeptical about trying a different brand. I have to say that the Chissle Brush from Pur Minerals is a great brush, it applies powder make-up very well. I've had mine for about a year and absolutely love it. It applies the 4in1 foundation evenly and with a natural finish.
I have read through many of the reviews of this product but I have to be honest with you, most of the ones that gave a bad review of the chisel bush were quite wrong. When you first get the brush it does shed a little and it may seem a bit still but after you use it for a week of two it loosens up a bit. I would also reccommend washing the brush with some baby shampoo or ineral wash and that will help to take some of the stiffness people complain about. This chisel brush gives awesome coverage and I could not imagine a better brush for mineral makeup.
Before receiving this product, I always applied the foundation with the sponge applicator. I got this brush in a kit and decided to try it out. I had no idea how much product I was using or wasting before this brush! The brush is very stiff but very soft, the perfect texture for applying foundation all over the face. The bristles are densely packed so it doesn't flop everywhere from being thin and flick the product out everywhere. It is not rough and does not scratch your face. It only takes a little bit of the product and you get great, even coverage with it. Sponges eat up half the makeup you put on them, so I would definitely recommend this brush if you want to keep your makeup supply lasting as long as possible. I clean this every 1.5 to two weeks, and it holds up great through cleanings. I like it so much that I ordered 2 more of the ones with the heart pattern!
Gives great application-needs to be softer though!
This is a good brush...not terrific. It feels rather stiff and kind of scratchy on my sensitive skin, and I can't use it around my eyes, BUT it DOES do a fantastic job of applying the 4-in-1 foundation...better than many of my other mineral makeup foundation brushes. I have been using a different flat-top chisel brush to apply my 4-in-1, but this one is the PERFECT size to bring along with me in my makeup bag in my purse (which I do every day) and I find myself using it for fuller coverage in spots where I need it. It is still a brush I use daily. Great size.
This brush is one word: Amazing. i wasn't sure how this brush was so different at first, but it covers very good whether u want full coverage or just to enhance it does it all! i recommend getting the brush cleaner because u can use this on the Mineral Glow and Bronzer:)
It applies the foundation evenly and doesn't need much pressure to get the product on your face. It goes hand in hand with the foundation and wouldn't consider using my 4 in1 foundation without this brush.
I was so suprised at this brush. I really was skeptical, but at the first application, I could see how it applied the foundation better than anything I ever used before. It helps the foundation to go on smoothly and evenly all over the face. It doesn't take very much either on the brush, which also suprised me because I got such good coverage with so little product. I love this brush.
I'm kind of torn. This brush works very well when applying the 4-in-1 foundation, but it is very very scratchy and I'm always afraid it's pulling on my skin and such. It's also quite expensive for the product. I really do love the handle though, I think it's very cute. My suggestion would be to have softer bristles, but make it very dense so you get the same effect.
This chisel brush really surprised me. I thought it would be too rough on my sensitive skin but it isn't. It picks up just the right amount of product, has lasted through several washings and provides a great finish. I even love the fact that it has a flat bottom that allows it to "stand" on the counter.
I have been using the 4-in-1 for almost 2 yrs now. I have tried many other brushes with this foundation but, they didn't give the flawless look like the chisel brush does. There's an amazing transformation using this brush. Highly recommend the chisel brush because it is the KEY to a flawless application!
The PUR minerals Chisel Makeup Brush takes all the guess work out of finding that flawless application we all want. Just follow their simple instructions " Dip,draw, dust" and you will have a luminous, even, complexion. What I love about this brush most, is it isn't hard to the touch and it is gentle enough for even the most sensitive skin types. Also there is minumull fallout of bristles, leaving your brush full and in shape.
I have used various brushes for years to apply my make-up, so learning to use a brush was not a trick. But the Chisel Brush is such a totally new design for powder foundation application, as opposed to those usual kind that are big enough to dust the furniture with, that I found it a little ackward to use at first. I used one of my blush brushes to apply it, got comfortable with that and went for the Chisel Brush....WOW!....suddenly working with the Chisel Brush was easy. Now it is like second nature to me and I reach for it with one hand and for the "4-in-1" with the other hand!! So, don't throw the Chisel Brush away, or push it to the back of your make-up kit, keep working with it. It will make you beautiful!
I only use a chisel brush with my foundation. I have one that must be an older design; it has a short pointed handle and bristles are less compact. I found it works better than the taller newer ones since it is fuller and covers more area. When I do use the newer one like the one shown, I have to pay more attention during application to get adequate coverage.
I absolutely love this brush to apply the foundation, although I think they should offer you it at a discounted rate if you buy the foundation along with it. But on the other hand it lasts forever, but I would recommend a good brush shampoo every once in a while and it is good as new!
I love this brush! It works amazing with the 4-in-1 makeup and applies it very nicely - smoothly and evenly. I use the PUR primer beforehand and do as the instructions suggest and give your moisturizer and primer time to dry before applying the makeup and it will go on smoothly!
I used PUR Mineral Foundation for about a year before I bought the chisel brush. The chisel brush make a big difference. It distributes the foundation evenly. I don't think I have to use as much foundation and I can get the very last of the foundation out of the container with this brush, which makes it well worth the investment. I have had my brush for over a year now and it has kept its shape and no brissels have fallen out. Good brush and love the clear design!
I was surprised by the dense-ness of this brush. I use this with the 4-in-1 foundation and it makes foundation application a breeze. With one swirl around the face I can get light to medium coverage and with 2-3 swirls i cam get almost complete coverage. The only con I have is that after maybe 3 months of washing ( I wash it maybe once every 2-3 days), the brushes start to fray and shed. But otherwise I love it
I've had this brush for just over a year and from the first moment I used it, it was shedding. I just finished cleaning my makeup brushes and the brush literally fell apart in my hands. The quality of this brush has definitely gone downhill and I would not recommend it. Honestly, save your money - you're better off buying a $3 ELF brush over this.
Let me start with the good - I love the way this works in conjunction with the 4-in-1 make up. It gives a great application and my face looks fantastic. That said... this brush loses hair when I use it. It's annoying and makes it feel lower quality. It also can be a bit coarse feeling on the face when you first start using it.
I love the chisel brush with the 4-in-1 powder. I find it too scratchy/pokey for the eye area that is quite delicate. I use the appropriate brush for eye application. If you find your brush to scratchy for your face, try washing it with the Mineral Wash. I found it made my brush very soft.. almost too soft. And the Mineral Wash works great on all make-up brushes, not to mention face, hands and body.
This brush has been an excellent addition to my collection. I've cleaned this brush with brush cleaner a number of times as well as several deep cleanings with baby shampoo and it has held its shape perfectly. This brush picks up the perfect amount of foundation for me-not a huge amount but not too sheer either. This is the way that it should pick up product since this is how you build coverage. There are some days that you do not want a lot of coverage and some that you would like to be able to build a few layers up or place more product only on your trouble spots and this brush allows you to do that. It is small enough to get under your eyes, though this may take a little while to get used to if you aren't used to it. It It does well with a light hand for a hint of coverage and great with a heavier hand for full coverage. I can use this brush for blush as well, very lighting dusting and blending the color. I am a big believer in versatile and multi-purpose brushes and this one is certainly a winner.
I absolutely love this brush! It is perfect for applying the 4 in 1 foundation, providing even, flawless coverage. I have been using my brush for months, and have not had any issues with shedding or being too rough on my skin. It is an absolute must in anyone's beauty supplies!
I recently bought this brush to replace my old one that I have had for at least two years and loved. I was super excited to have a brand new one but was so disappointed when the brush broke off the handle after using it one time. So disappointed and definitely not worth the amount I paid for it!
This brush is fantastic but it takes some practice. I had reverted to my old kabuki brush the first few times because I kept getting too much powder in the bristles. You only need a light swirl and tap because the bristles on this thing are so much denser than a regular makeup brush. I also found that it's better to use light circular motions on my face, because if you use sweeping or side-to-side motions the brush tends to deliver uneven amounts of powder. So I take it, do the dip and tap, and swirl it all over my face, it's hard to explain but it evens my skin tone perfectly this way. It's worth the practice, believe me!
The size of this brush is the only positive. From the moment I opened the kit, this brush shed. This went on for two days, until I tried to wash it according to the directions on this website. I ended up just returning the whole kit and buying the powder separately. I love the powder, bye the brush is lacking in quality.
This brush is the best powder brush. I tried other brushes for my powder foundation and not one has satisfied me as much as this one. It gives you the full coverage without a struggle. Even sponges can't do the same job as this brush does.
I use the brush to apply my mineral powder. The brush is small enough to fit into my wallet and it goes wherever I go. I keep it in the plastic cover, hence it is protected from other items it comes in contact with. ...and, I received it free with my purchase.
Unfortunately I've had a similar experience with my chisel brush. The quality seems to be poor because the bristles of the brush started to shed after my second use. It's frustrating having to pluck bristles off my face as I'm applying my make-up, so unfortunately this will not be a Pur Minerals product that I will buy again.
don't buy this brush. it sheds like crazy. I'm really glad I kept my old brush (not from purminerals). in case you're thinking of trying it, remember that you can't exchange something if you bought it with a kgb deal. just got off the phone with customer service. I don't think they care that they're selling a defective product because people keep buying it. so don't buy it!!!
I recently purchased the 4-1 powder along with this brush. Love the powder, hate that I wasted money on the brush. After applying the powder I am left with black broken brush bristles all over my face. Even when I tap the brush to get rid of excess powder I can see the bristle falling. Extremely disappointing purchase with the brush :(
Behind a good powder, is a good applicator. I have been using chisel make up brush, and just love it. The application is so easy, and just go on smoothly on my face. I maintain it by washing with liquid soap at least once a week.
I recived the chisel brush in my starter kit. The bristles are harder then other brushes ive tried but i think thats partly to help lift the powder from its pressed form. Where its good as a face brush for general coverage, I wouldnt recommend it for your eye areas or really sensitive skin. If you need better coverage or concealment using the max coverage brush then use the chisel after to finish up. If the brustles are to hard for your skin ( though it hasnt been an issue for me) try using the powder brushes. Everyone is different, and though pur minerals work on a wide range of people, everyone will still need their own set of tools to use it in the best way for them.
